Why two figures appear
Forbes publishes a dated annual list estimate and a separate “real time” figure. Its August 28 figure was higher than its March 10 annual estimate. That does not establish that Schulze gained the difference in cash or realized value.
Why estimates vary
Public-company share prices move. Ownership can be held directly, through trusts, or through other entities. Private assets and liabilities may not be visible. Publishers can apply different valuation methods, discounts, and update schedules. Tax obligations, liquidity, charitable transfers, and debt can also affect an estimate.
Editorial rule
We use no undated number, label every figure as an estimate, identify the publisher and date, and do not interpolate a “current” figure between publisher updates. Readers should consult the source for later revisions.
